Sickness

I've been plagued with illness since fall. I get over one cold just to have another one rattling in my chest. I hope to change something. I don't know what. Maybe it's as simple as drinking more water, taking a multivitamin or avoiding public computers. None of those is going to be a bad idea. Maybe it's more complex. Maybe I need to work on stress management. Scratch that. I know I need to work on stress. What college student doesn't?

In Search of Happiness

"If you want to be happy you can be, just like you can be sad if you want to be." I found this bit of advice in some poorly written internet article. It's gold because it reminds me that I do not have to earn the right to be happy. Happiness is independent of achievement. It doesn't matter if I fail my expectations of myself. I can still be happy if I want to be.
I don't have to succeed to be happy.
Don't get me wrong. I like success.
